Biography

Lauren Williams is one of the partners at Hegazy and Partners with more than 10 years of experience. As the head of the corporate and arbitration departments, Lauren specializes in advising multinational companies on investments in Egypt and the MENA and OHADA regions, from M&As to commercial and investor-state arbitration. She obtained her cum laude bachelor’s degree in Government and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University and regularly consults with foreign companies regarding administrative contracts.

A core component of Lauren's practice involves advising international clients on corporate structuring, governance, and labor issues. In the financial sector, Lauren provides strategic counsel to banking institutions on loan financing agreements between foreign lenders and Egyptian corporate and banking borrowers.

She also plays an active role in international commercial arbitration, assisting in drafting comprehensive legal memoranda and finalizing formal submissions. She has also assisted foreign clients preparing for high-stakes litigation in the United States and Canada. Previously, she has contributed to Indeed.com.
